This Saturday we have:

• What: Public Roda for Stylo KL GP Couture and Cuisine Festival 09
• Who: All Bantulinos welcomed
• Where: Lake Gardens (you can see us there at the bottom of the map shown below with Remy Airbrush and Sageema)
• When: 5:30pm Saturday 28th March
• Attire: Bantus T-shirt

We will have a booth up for promotions of our classes primarily the Bom Brazil classes downtown. The booth will be there from 2pm till midnight. I need 3 people to man three shifts as follows.

• Shift 1: 2pm to 5:30pm
• Shift 2: 6:30pm to 9pm
• Shift 3:  9pm to midnight

Basically just treat it as a day out in the park. Feel free to hang out and look around just make sure at least one of you is a the booth. You can train a little in the park, give out flyers and talk to people about Bantus Capoeira.Spread the lurrrve…..

This past year we’ve expanded to some new locations such as Living Arts, Bom Brazil,  Celebrity Fitness One U and Bangsar Village, True Fitness Taipan and Jaya 33, Sunway Club, Monash, Taylors College, and a few new international schools in the Klang Valley. We realized that we only get everyone together once a year during Festival season and thats just not good enough!

Hence we’ve decided to do a Roda of the Month at the Bantus HQ in Damansara Jaya on the last Friday of every month for the entire family to get to know one another better and play more capoeira

Bantus Capoeira will be participating in Youth ‘09, Malaysia’s Largest Youth Lifestyle Festival

• When: Saturday MORNING 10th January 2009 - meet there at 9:45am
• What: 5 minute demonstration
• Who: Senior students and performance group
• Where: PWTC

• When: Sunday 11th January 2009 at 3:30pm - meet there at 2:45pm
• What: 1 hour workshops
• Who: All are invited to participate
• Where: PWTC

Riding on the success of YOUTH’08, where 20,000 Malaysian youths gathered over 100 different activities, and RM300,000 worth of cash and prizes.

Coming January 9th ~ 11th 2009, in PWTC… Malaysian youths will bring the excitement back, twice the impact.

So what’s going on this year?

Bands, online communities, celebrities, facebook groups, entrepreneurs, bloggers, dancers, photographers, fashionistas, student organisations, and thousands of youths come together, to be part of competitions, performances, showcases, and gatherings around their interests!

• Youth Community Meetups – Various online communities, Facebook groups, and community movements meet face to face and mingle!

Para bens to Grupo Bantus Capoeira Malaysia for organizing what was most definitely the biggest and best annual Brazilian cultural festival in Malaysia to date. We had a superb kids workshop and batizado, a week of capoeira, percussion, and makulele workshops, some very informative sports science and nutrition lectures, a fierce capoeira tournament, a very cool Brazilian themed art exhibition, a SLAMMIN party at Cloth n Clef in KL, and a feel good Batizado e Troca de Cordas ceremony in Pavilion.

Many many thanks goes out to the entire Bantus crew, our special guests Mestre Pintor, Graduado Claudinho, Instructor Grao, Instructor Cacapa, Contra Mestre Silvio do Berimbau, & Tissao,  our hot n sexy sambistas Rodrigo, Fernanda, Barracuda and Lua, all the students from Singapore, Perth and Japan, and our new Bantus branches in Jakarta and Bangkok!

Congratulations to all involved during last weeks amazing Brazil Fest 08. We are taking a much needed break from classes at the Academy and Bom Brazil this week for some rest and recuperation. Other classes at Tru Fit, Celeb, PW, and WMAC will go on as usual. A bunch of us will be in Singapore for Bantus Capoeira Singapore’s festival this weekend. See y’all on Monday at the Academy!

### Important Notes About the Batizado Ceremony

Please note that your registration for the festival does not automatically guarantee that you will receive your first or new belts during the ceremony. Our mestre and your instructor will be responsible to award eligible students with their new belts at their discretion.

You are required to own a pair of official Bantus Capoeira Abadas (Pants) to be eligible to for grading.

### Payments

Payments can be submitted to our instructors, Mr. Rafael Rosario or Mr. Quek Wei Kin in the form of cash or check made payable to Bantus Capoeira Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

As with all major events, things won’t be able to take off quite as spectacularly without your participation. Take this time to get to know your immediate and extended Bantus family, help out with preparations at the academy, make new friends and be a part of something fun and exciting!

We have had many requests to start teaching classes in KL and finally we are proud to announce that Bantus Capoeira is now officially in Kuala Lumpur! We will be conducting capoeira and samba classes at the Bom Brazil Churrascaria, Changkat Bukit Bintang on Mondays and Fridays starting this September.
